Estancia High School’s award winning drama department ends the 2015-2016 season with the Tony award winning musical Urinetown. In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a twenty-year drought, has led to the government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens are charged admission to use public amenities in order to receive “the privilege to pee”. While parodying familiar musicals, the oppressed rebels plan to overthrow the corrupt UGC (Urine Good Company). Urinetown is a hilarious tale of greed, corruption, love and revolution in which water is worth its weight in gold.
Segerstrom Center for the Arts and Anika’s Pink Closet are pleased to announce a clothing drive that will take place during the run of the Tony Award®-winning Broadway musical Rodgers + Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA from April 19 – May 1. Guests are encouraged to bring gently used clothing to the theater where the team from Anika’s Pink Closet will be on hand to collect the generous donations. These donated items will be distributed to foster homes and child abuse prevention centers throughout Orange County. All clothing items will be gratefully accepted, however girls and children’s clothing are needed in particular. Those who donate will receive a small token of appreciation for their support of Anika’s Pink Closet (while supplies last!). On opening night, Anika and her mom will be on-site to help collect items.
Enjoy a chuck wagon, line dancing, saloon and a live auction. An online auction is available from April 22-29, click here. Contact Louise Dunham for more information at 714-721-6968

Join Mayor Stephen Mensinger in partnership with Estancia Sports Boosters and Civic Groups along with The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints as they revive the neighborhood clean-up program to assist homes throughout the Costa Mesa community in need of TLC. Church organizers have identified a number of properties in the community that are in need of assistance and have begun the prep work for painting; now all that is needed is volunteers, donations and good old fashioned community elbow grease.
For additional information or or if you are interested in donating please email cm.cool@costamesaca.gov or call 714-754-5156
